Chromatics

Chromatics consists of Adam Miller and Ruth Radelet and Johnny Jewel as I mentioned in my previous entry. The band has been around since 2002 and released their fourth album last year on the record label “Italians Do It Better”. Their sound is diverse, as subtle as it is intense, providing narcotic and sexually depraved italo desperation. Make sure to get all the tracks and visit Chromatics myspace for even more tunes.

Hands in the air!

Glass Candy

Portlands Glass Candy has been a jewel in my iTunes library for quite some time now, whether that has anything to do with the fact that one of the two band members and producer goes by the name of Johnny Jewel - who also produces Chromatics – is, however, not certain. But the combination of Johnnys smooth italo-like retro synthesizers along with dusty drum kits and Ida No’s beautiful hypnotic vocals is just overwhelmingly addictive. Don’t forget to visit Glass Candy’s Myspace where you can dowload even more tunes.

Beatific!

Rihanna vs. Klaxons

Even though I’ve absolutely hated the song since the first time I heard it, I must admit, that I actually thought it was sound as a pound as performed together with Klaxons at the Brit Awards the other day.

Ella-ella-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh!

Mental As Anything

Thought I would start off by sharing the infamous Aussie band Mental as Anything with you. The band was formed in the 70’s and has since then produced a number of albums. Their latest album was released in 2004 called “Songs The Lord Tortoise” although the video below dates back to 1986 it is nevertheless a proper classic.

Live it Up!
